SEA 2020-21 & Covid-19:

When we left the 20th Annual SEA Conference the end of February 2020, none of us really had a grasp on what lied ahead. In less than a month, most of us would see our daily lives drastically altered whether that meant working from home or trying to figure out how to pay bills now that creative work was halted. Our world is definitely in a different place.

After careful evaluation, we have decided to cancel the 2021 conference and reimagine what the 21st year of SEA will look like. While we are very disappointed that we won't be able to gather together in person in February, we are excited at what we have in store. This is an opportunity for us to connect with all of you in ways we never thought possible. As one of our well loved former keynote's stated:

"Now is not the time to just settle for ordinary. We encourage you, instead, to take advantage of this time for reinvention, innovation, and the extraordinary. Just because you have to do it differently, doesn't mean it has to be inferior to how it was done before."

- Jade Simmons, artist and independent presidential candidate

Where Are They Now?
As we put together the 20th Annual SEA Conference last winter, we came across many former attendees who were now succeeding at what they love to do - their art! So, we decided we needed to collect these stories in a more formal way. We're sharing profiles of past attendees on our Facebook page and our website. We also will be adding live interviews in the coming year. Stay tuned! In the meantime, visit our Facebook page for recent profiles and if you are a past attendee and would like to share your "Where are you now?" story with us, click this link.
